American Tackle’s SRG – now anglers get it!

Multi award-winning brand American Tackle has been a popular fixture at tackle trade shows across the globe and has a record for delivering innovative rod components. But thanks to a huge win for its Shrink Ready Grip in the first-ever Angler’s Choice Awards, it’s clear that anglers in Europe are also getting the message. American Tackle is a name to remember.

The SRG System, or Shrink Ready Grip, is a complete handle kit, allowing:
• Customisation
• Retro-fitting
• Repair
• Re-gripping

The kit includes a pre-arbored nylon or CCT (Compressed Carbon Technology) split grip set pre-loaded with black RFT, three extra colour options, aluminum winding checks and two composite cork and EVA end caps.

The grips include tenons to fit end caps and standard size 16mm reel seats. “This is the last grip you will ever need,” said American Tackle Marketing Manager Kevin Landers, who added: “More and more fishermen are recognising the components rather than the name on the rods.”

The Angler’s Choice awards gathered together the winners of the EFTTEX trade show awards and opened up voting on the short-list to anglers in Europe and around the world. Landers told Tacklestream: “We are all super excited to win an Angler’s Choice Award with the SRG System. It means we are increasing the recognition of the brand by anglers. We were up against some really good opposition in the General & Coarse category, and for a rod component system to come out on top in a sector containing rods and reels was amazing.

“We have been around for 37 years and deal with the biggest rod brands in the industry. The trade knows who we are. This win shows that the knowledge of anglers is increasing and that they are looking at the brand within the brand as they make more informed decisions on the combinations available.”
