Knife brand makes surprise move into new market segment

Fishing tools and accessories supplier BUBBA has surprised the market by entering the rod sector with three inshore models.

The US company’s Brand Manager, Isaac Brizendine, described the move a ‘big milestone’ for the business and said it is utilsing BUBBA’s non-slip grip on the range of sticks that will be available for sale from its website (www.bubba.com).

  • What’s in the range: BUBBA Tidal ($139.99), BUBBA Tidal Select ($199.99) and BUBBA Tidal Pro ($329.99).
  • What are the stand-out features? Guides have been selected for each rod to stand up to the harshest saltwater elements and all incorporate the BUBBA Non-Slip Grip for all day comfort and optimum sensitivity.
  • What are the warranties on the rods? Tidal – five year; Tidal Select and Tidal Pro – limited lifetime.
  • Who is BUBBA? An award winner at the huge ICAST trade show in Orlando, Florida, BUBBA was founded in San Diego, California in 2009 with the launch of its famous fillet knife. It has since added tools, gear and apparel to its portfolio before branching out into rods this year.
