HANK CHERRY CHAMPIONS COLLECTION BY HOBIE EYEWEAR

New Bluefin and Mojo Float polarised sunglasses are class of the field and refreshingly affordable, says Hobie.

Since beginning his Bass Pro career nine years ago, Hank Cherry, the 48-year-old North Carolinian, has put together some spectacular seasons, winning the 2021 and 2022 Bassmaster Classics. He has recently teamed up with Hobie Eyewear to design the ideal polarised fishing sunglasses – a step up for Hobie, which is better known worldwide for its kayak ranges.

Hobie Eyewear’s senior marketing coordinator, Dylan Coates, adds: “We’ve been excited to work with Hank on this project. This trademark line will debut with two models, each having quality Hobie Polarized nylon lenses as an option. These glasses were created with Hank’s colours, style and performance goals in mind. We chose two floating designs that were particularly well-suited to him, matched the highlights and signature to his own branding colours, and included his feedback in the final design.

The all-new Bluefin Float Hank Cherry Champions Edition, as big and bold as the elite angler who inspired it, features Hobie’s largest frame to date and is a perfect choice for fishermen with larger faces. This style features maximum coverage without sacrificing comfort.

Key Features:

  • 8-base curve with broad temples
  • Ultra-light buoyant material ensures durability and resilience for extended days on the water
  • Security and grip are provided by co-moulded rubber nose pads and temples, that are accented by Hank’s characteristic red rubber
  • The Hank Cherry edition frame also features the logo of the top tournament champion on the inside of the black satin temple

The Mojo Float Hank Cherry Champions Edition is also destined to be a major hit with anglers. It’s made from an ultra-lightweight material for all-day comfort while its performance polarised lens technology and dual-coated water/oil-repellent lenses decrease visual disturbances to keep your vision crystal clear. The frames are stylishly sleek and athletic, with Hank’s signature and emblem.

“I’ve put these polarised fishing glasses through their paces, and I enjoy them,” Cherry says. “They’re comfy, fashionable and functional. They keep my eyes from becoming irritated while I work up and down the lake, and their low weight means they won’t give you a headache if you wear them all day. I’ve also dropped them in the water a few times and they’ve floated just fine. With the price of designer sunglasses these days, that’s always a comfort.”

Cherry also appreciates how affordable they are, making them great for anglers of all ages, including kids, high school and college bass team competitors, weekend warriors and aspiring pros. “There are a lot of $180 to $300 glasses out there,” he says, “but these are every bit as excellent.”

By early summer, the Hobie Hank Cherry Champions Collection will be available in shops and online at www.hobieeyewear.com All models have a $99.99 MSRP and come with a microfibre cleaning cloth as well as a Hobie hard eyewear case.
