The wait for ‘crappie catching’ machine is over

It’s been a longtime coming, but US rod and reel maker, Kistler, has finally come up with a lightweight stick specifically designed for catching crappie.

Described as a ‘crappie catching machine’, the 6 foot 6 inch rod is a light power, moderate action spinning rod.

  • What makes it special? A flexible and light tip is a must in a crappie rod and it delivers just that according to Trey Kistler. “You can feel and see the strike,” he says.
  • Give me some spec. Kistler KC8 Japanese carbon by Toray- High modulus blank, Fuji graphite reel seat, Grade A cork handle and Vortex  Air guide system.
  • Anything else? The handle measures seven inches from the bottom of the reel seat to the bottom of the butt cap to make it more comfortable and easy to use.
  • What’s it for? As well as crappie, anglers will have fun catching small bass and panfish.
