Introducing Abel’s ‘biggest and baddest’ reel

The new Abel ROVE has already been voted Best New Saltwater Fly Reel by US-based Fly Fishing Magazine.

As its name suggests, ROVE is for the traveling angler and is designed to fish anywhere and everywhere. It has replaced Abel’s Super Series, which had been the company’s mainstay for 22 years, and is described as the ‘biggest and baddest’ reel in the Abel line-up.

  • What makes it the biggest and baddest? Structurally integral machining designed to withstand the demands of the traveling angler.
  • What else has it got? Partially ported frame for balance of sound and visual appeal; caged frame to prevent line getting caught between the frame and spool; and high capacity arbor spool for single or two-handed rods.
  • How many in the line-up? Four reels – 5/7, 7/9, 9/11 and 11/12+ – with spool diameters and arbor widths designed for maximum capacity.
  • When can I buy one? Available in March 2021.
