Quality refinement for tournament grade performance!
The newly refined SLX rods from Shimano adds to an already impressive reputation. A line-up of rods that delivers tournament-level performance and unrivalled durability at a price point that’s affordable to most anglers. The new SLX rod series delivers numerous enhancements and refinements demanded by bass anglers, whether testing their mettle on the tournament trail or sharing the boat with friends and family, through a diverse range of blanks with varying lengths, powers, and actions.
Shimano’s proprietary DIAFLASH technology provides lighter, stronger, and more responsive blanks for the expanded line-up of SLX A casting and spinning rods. DIAFLASH fortifies the butt section with diagonally wrapped carbon tape that forms an array of “X” shapes on the blank’s outermost layer, improving control when targeting trophy fish. This reinforcing technology not only improves the rod’s visual appeal, but it also increases rigidity in the lower half of the blank, reducing ovalization and meeting the demands of modern bass presentations.
Tournament-grade components and features can be found throughout the entire length of each SLX A rod making this range much sought after by many anglers. The casting models use K-style titanium oxide guides, whereas spinning models use single-foot guides with deep-drawn frames to protect the guide insert, reduce friction, and improve line management. Custom-tapered EVA split-grip handles transmit the smallest vibrations throughout the retrieve and improve comfort during long-day angling excursions. The two swimbait-specific models have full EVA foam rear grips and enlarged foregrips to allow for two-handed casting of big baits that attract those trophy bass.
The redesigned SLX A series provides bass anglers with seven specialised spinning and 16 casting rods, including four glass casting models and two exclusive swimbait rods, to help them quickly and easily select the right rod for any given situation.
