Daiwa Launches New High Performance EXIST Spinning Reel Family
The Daiwa EXIST is the newest of the brand’s high-end freshwater and inshore spinning reels. The emergence of the new EXIST brings together style, innovation, research and passion, says Daiwa. A top-of-the-line freshwater spinning reel with all the extras any angler could wish for.

The new EXIST family features the ZAION Air Drive Rotor, Air Drive Bail, Air Drive Spool, and Air Drive Shaft, as well as an all-new EXIST Air Drive System. The redesigned EXIST Air Drive Rotor is 15% lighter, has a screwless design, a flush surface, and enhanced rigidity thanks to ZAION. The design reduces design waste while maintaining strength. The Air Drive Rotor’s biggest advantage is its lighter rotation, which reduces handle turning resistance.
The Air Drive Shaft works in concert with the Air Drive Rotor to provide improved stability and power transfer; it also works with the rotor to provide smoother, easier rotations. When you spin the handle, you won’t feel anything – it could be the smoothest rotation you have ever experienced.

In the 3000, 4000, and 5000 models, Daiwa’s Advanced Tournament (ATD) system allows for a maximum drag pressure of 22 pounds. For light, feathery drag adjustment, the 2000 and 2500 sizes give 11 pounds of drag. The 2000 weighs only 5.3 ounces and has a handle turn of 24.1 inches; the 2500 weighs 5.6 ounces and has a handle turn of 34.5 inches. The 3000 weighs 6.2 ounces and has a line length of 30.6 inches every handle turn; the 4000 weighs 7.1 ounces and has a line length of 32.5 inches per turn; and the 5000 weighs 7.6 ounces and has a line length of 34.5 inches per handle turn. The EXIST is perfect for any technique and they all handle a large amount of monofilament or J-Braid.
